Summer Fun Ends and School Begins

Hello troops! Forgive me for the lack of updates on our warrior lately. After that last hospital stay ended, we were squeezing in as much fun as we possibly could before school started! We went to Cowabunga Bay where Jilli did not like any water slides! She just wanted the Lazy River and the Wave Pool! We got to go to the “O” showroom in the Bellagio and enjoy friends & family day the with Cirque performers and swim in the pool they perform in. Jilli loved the mermaid but was not too thrilled that they made it thunder, lightning and rain INSIDE! Thank you Ray and Christina Wold for that once in a lifetime experience! Then we took a trip to California. We stayed at a resort on the beach and drove to the San Diego Zoo for the day. We played in the water, made sand castles… Pretty much a “re-do” of last year’s trip with a healthier cancer free Jilli. Thank you grampa and grandma Cabrera!! Yesterday we had to say a bittersweet bon voyage to Jilli’s cousin Ashleigh and her hubby Daniel. The newlyweds are on their new adventure in life… They will spend the next 4 years living in Guam. To think Jilli will be Sienna’s age when they see her again… Scary!!! And now today Sienna starts 2nd grade and I dropped Jillian off for her first day of preschool! Tears were flowing… I never thought this day would happen. I am sad and relieved at the same time. Last year we were fighting for her life. Today we watch her thrive. The fight is still not over. She has started the final cycle of this LAST phase of her protocol. She has labs and scans coming up. Her hearing is damaged but she strong, she is alive and she will move forward in life; even against the obstacles. Thank you everyone for your thoughts, your prayers, your energy, light and love! SALUTE!
