Back to School Chaos
Good morning troops! Hope everyone is surviving the back to school chaos. We sure had our work cut out for us in that first week.
Our warrior Jillian started 6th grade and her big sister Sienna started high school. We are trying to get back into a groove of going back into the classroom everyday as well as started new adventures, new grades, new schools, new friends, new teachers, new routines. General Dad and I have figured out how to navigate the craziness surrounding transportation and how to get both girls to and from two different schools that are located in opposite directions from each other AND have similar start and end times.
Jillian is a theatre major at her magnet school and so far she is loving it. She was totally bummed out that she would not be getting a locker this year though… damn Covid! She has already made several new friends and her teachers are all accommodating her IEP needs. They had her HATS system for her hearing aides in place by the end of the first week; I was impressed by that.
She is also taking two dance classes in the evening at Dance Addiction; she is continuing with Intermediate Hip Hop and giving Jazz a try. She loves both classes.
Sienna is a dance major at her magnet school which will be keeping her quite busy, and so far she is loving it! She is already participating in school activities and making new friends; she is making the most of her freshman year.
I can’t believe how grown up they are. I am so proud of these two. Hope everyone has a fantastic back to school experience as well.
