Round 4 …Mission complete!
I can now breathe a big sigh of relief, at least for a couple days. Round 4 of chemo is behind us. Only 2 more to go in this first part of battle. Jillian took it like the fighter she is. Yesterday proved to be tough on her with more vomiting, no eating or drinking and a lot of sleeping. But today, she just had to finish up the 72 hrs of that nasty, toxic s**t. She got her spirits back as well as her appetite. Dr. B came in to round tonight and is letting us go home for the weekend…We are going home in the morning. As excited as I am about this, it will be a very short homecoming. Monday morning we are to report back to our post here at St Rose for surgery. This will be the 2nd attempt for the apheresis (stem cell harvest). He also wants to do another bone marrow aspirate during surgery to see if any cancer cells are still lingering in her marrow. Lots of prayers needed for Monday. But for tonight, rest easy soldiers…lots of love and peace be with all you…Goodnight.
