The End of Treatment
Here we are… The LAST day of accutane. The last day of cycle 6…. The LAST DAY OF THE LAST PHASE OF TREATMENT! We made it! It’s over! She was declared NED in April. Now the stress of scans is upon us. This week Jillian will undergo a bone marrow aspirate and CT scans as well as the MIBG scans. If she continues to be NED then we are DONE! Needless to say we are all on edge. Jilli has been limping for a week. Some days she acts as if she is not feeling very well. Maybe something is going on in her body? Maybe it’s all in our minds? There is nothing good about scanxiety… As positive as we are all trying to be, the reality is this disease is aggressive. It has a high rate of relapse. Every week I see another warrior relapse and another warrior die from this. I say Jillian is different, she has defied odds, she is strong, she is a fighter. She has beat this once and for all…. She will remain NED… All the love, prayers, positive energy… We need it now.. Please Troops… We need every member of our army at this time… SALUTE!

The fear of relapse is real in every cancer survivor and their family. The only thing that released that fear, for me, is trust in God and His plan for my life. Continued prayers for health and peace.
